West Coast structural tubing prices slide

LOS ANGELES — West Coast structural steel tubing prices have fallen about $20 per ton ($1 per hundredweight) over the past six weeks, but demand appears to be holding up and preliminary dumping duties on imports of other tubular products have so far not scared off South Korea, the region’s largest offshore source.

Prices for truckload shipments (about 20 tons) of core sizes of A500 Grade B hollow structural sections (HSS) in Los Angeles are estimated at $950 to $980 per ton ($47.50 to $49 per cwt), but larger buyers might see lower prices, sources said.....
