Southern energy tubular demand said booming

NEW YORK — Southern energy tubular demand is said to be robust as line pipe projects are in the execution stage, while last week’s ruling in an oil country tubular goods (OCTG) trade case against nine countries has spurred some speculative buying, according to market sources.

"In June, yeah definitely, the demand was really good. The last couple of months have been really busy," one southern line pipe distributor said. "We’re typically more risk-averse ... but (we) ordered quite a bit of inventory and are certainly seeing demand keeping up with it."....
