West Coast bulk ferrous scrap prices slip

NEW YORK West Coast tags for bulk exports of ferrous scrap lost some ground this past week following price decreases for domestic material in markets like Japan and Taiwan.
A lone bulk cargo reportedly was booked by a South Korean producer from a West Coast exporter at $378 to $379 per tonne c.i.f. Korea for No. 1 heavy melt steel scrap. That was down $6 to $7 per tonne delivered from the last U.S. sale to Korea at the start of the month, although pre-shipping values didnt fall as much due to a weaker freight market, according to market participants.....
