Trade action needed now: SDI’s Teets

CHICAGO Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) is collecting information for potential trade cases against imports of cold-rolled, coated and painted steel, including Galvalume, and would like to see action "sooner rather than later," Richard P. Teets Jr., executive vice president of steelmaking and president and chief operating officer of steel operations, said during an earnings conference call July 22.
"We continue to be distressed by the amount of imports that are out there, both on very light-gauge cold-rolled, Galvalume and other coated and painted products, so we are out gathering data, looking at our own results and talking to our trade attorneys," Teets said.....
