Sherman Steel mulling Ohio rebar mill

NEW YORK A mill construction company is in the early stages of feasibility and marketing studies to build an independent rebar mill in the Youngstown, Ohio, area, AMM has learned.
Orlando, Fla.-based steel mill and equipment supplier Sherman Steel LLC has made marketing calls to Ohio-based rebar market participants, sources said.
A mill equipment salesman based in Pittsburgh asked one Ohio fabricator whether it would be interested in buying rebar from such a mini-mill, which could have an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, a source at the fabricator told AMM.....
