Nucor, Gerdau hiking rebar prices $10/ton

NEW YORK Nucor Corp. and Gerdau Long Steel North America have raised prices on reinforcing bar products by $10 per ton (50 cents per hundredweight) effective with new orders July 28.
Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor announced its increase in a July 25 letter to customers, and Tampa, Fla.-based Gerdau followed with a similar letter dated July 28. Both steelmakers said that orders placed before the close of business July 25 will be price protected if shipped before Aug. 25.....
