AK execs see electrical steel turnaround

NEW YORK AK Steel Corp. believes that "after a multi-year decline, the tide is beginning to turn" for the global electrical steel market.
A recovering commercial construction market and housing starts that "are expected to exceed 1 million in 2014" for the first time in seven years have contributed to an "improved domestic picture" for AK Steels grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) business, company executives said during an earnings conference call July 29.....
