Primary aluminum sees revenue drop: Census

NEW YORK U.S. manufacturers of primary aluminum products saw significant drops in revenue and industrywide consolidation following the 2008 global financial crisis, according to the 2012 Economic Census.
The total value of shipments and receipts for services provided by aluminum sheet, plate, and foil manufacturers totaled $15.7 billion in 2012, down 16.1 percent from $18.7 billion in 2007, according to data released this month by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Several industry sources said Chinese-made aluminum products sold into the Untied States had severely hampered the domestic market in the years following the financial collapse.....
