Weak aero, energy demand hurts Carpenter

NEW YORK Carpenter Technology Corp. sees "positive indicators" as it enters its new fiscal year, including extended backlogs, gradually improving aerospace demand and a "fully operational" premium alloy facility in Alabama.
Carpenter noted "continued demand weakness" in key end markets like aerospace and energy, which experienced fiscal fourth-quarter sales declines of 7 percent and 10 percent, respectively, compared with a year earlier.....
