USS Kosice said untouched by turmoil

CHICAGO — U.S. Steel Corp.’s operations in Slovakia haven’t been impacted by fighting in eastern Ukraine and sanctions imposed on Russia, according to the company’s top executive.

"We have not been impacted in any meaningful way. ... But we’ve been putting backup plans and alternative plans in place to order to mitigate the potential risk," U.S. Steel president and chief executive officer Mario Longhi said during a July 30 earnings conference call with analysts.....
