NEW YORK — Major Metals Co. has agreed to settle charges that it failed to protect workers from amputation and fall hazards.

The U.S. Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited the Mansfield, Ohio-based steel distributor for 10 "serious safety violations" that included failure to train workers properly on using machines safely, the agency said July 31.....
