Paul Bania to receive ITA’s lifetime achievement award

LOS ANGELES Paul J. Bania, a metallurgist, researcher and inventor instrumental in the development of new titanium alloys, improved melting techniques and mill products in aerospace and auto racing, has been chosen to receive the International Titanium Associations (ITAs) 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Bania, a former vice president of quality and technology at Titanium Metals Corp. (Timet), will receive the award, given for "exceptional contributions to the advancement of titanium applications and technology," at the ITAs annual conference in Chicago Sept. 21-24.....
