Construction weakness slims Gibraltar’s net

NEW YORK — Residential and industrial products maker Gibraltar Industries Inc. saw lackluster growth in the second quarter due to weakness in residential construction markets, company executives said.

Second-quarter net income eased 16.8 percent year on year to $6.4 million for the three months ended June 30 despite revenue that rose 4.7 percent to nearly $235 million, according to the company's earnings results.

Revenue from the Buffalo, N.Y.-based company’s residential products segment rose 6.3 percent to $117.4 million in the same comparison.....
