Higher prices, sales boost moly earnings in quarter

NEW YORK Thompson Creek Metals Co. Inc.s second-quarter molybdenum revenue received a boost from higher prices, with the company now considering a plan that would continue operations at its flagship mine beyond the end of the year.
Molybdenum sales in thethree months ended June 30 totaled $126.3 million, up 12.1 percent from $112.7 million in the same period last year, which the company attributed to the average realized sale price for molybdenum jumping 12.3 percent to $13.03 per pound from $11.60 a year earlier. ....
