Harsco logs loss amid push to exit contracts

PITTSBURGH — Harsco Corp. swung to a loss in the second quarter due to severance costs and its decision to exit underperforming contracts with steel producers.

The Camp Hill, Pa.-based mill services provider posted a $13.9-million loss for the three months ended June 30, in contrast to net income of $23.8 million in the same period a year earlier, on sales that slid 29.6 percent to $534.6 million from $759.7 million in the....
