Niagara to ‘repurpose’ Ormet assets

NEW YORK — The new owner of the former Ormet Corp. smelting facility in Hannibal, Ohio, is looking to "repurpose" manufacturing equipment at the idle site.

Niagara, Wis.-based development company Niagara Worldwide LLC purchased Hannibal-based Ormet’s assets for $25.25 million in June (amm.com, June 27). Ormet, which shut the Hannibal smelter in October after failing to secure a more favorable power....
