US molybdenum usage rises, world demand falls

NEW YORK — Molybdenum usage in the United States increased 4.2 percent in the first quarter compared with the last three months of 2013, with North American molybdenum production also ticking up slightly.

Molybdenum usage in the United States totaled 14.8 million pounds in the first three months of this year, up from 14.2 million in the fourth quarter of last year, according to International Molybdenum Association (IMOA) figures. ....
