NAS boosting stainless steel prices in Oct.

NEW YORK North American Stainless Inc. (NAS) will increase stainless steel prices across a variety of grades and products effective Oct. 1.
The Ghent, Ky.-based steelmaker will increase prices for 200-series, 300-series and Type 430 cold-rolled grades by reducing the functional discount by 2 percentage points, the company said Aug. 21, while hot-rolled plate products and automotive grades will increase by $40 per ton. Polish discounts also will be reduced by 10 percent for the standard No. 4 finish and 20 percent for the appliance finish.....
