Empire Industries’ earnings, sales jump

NEW YORK Empire Industries Ltd.s earnings and sales jumped in the second quarter on more profitable bookings in its steel fabrication segment.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba-based steel fabricator and installer posted net income of nearly Canadian $1.65 million ($1.5 million) for the three months ended June 30, up 66.6 percent from C$990,000 in the same period last year....
