Alcoa to shut down smelter in Italy

NEW YORK Alcoa Inc. will permanently close its Portovesme primary aluminum smelter in Carbonia-Iglesias, Italy.
The facility has been curtailed since November 2012, Alcoa said, adding that the closure will reduce the companys global smelting capacity by 150,000 tonnes to 3.6 million tonnes per year.....
