US trade petition targets China steel shelving

CHICAGO Edsal Manufacturing Co. Inc., the largest U.S. manufacturer of boltless steel shelving, has filed a trade petition against Chinese producers of the product.
U.S. trade officials are being asked to assess anti-dumping and countervailing duties against what Edsal claims are "unfairly traded imports" from China, an Aug. 26 filing with the U.S. Commerce Departments International Trade Administration and the International Trade Commission shows.
These imports "are a cause of material injury" to the U.S. industry "and threaten to cause further material injury if remedial action is not taken," Edsal legal counsel Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, Washington, said in the filing.....
