Ferrosilicon ITC ruling seen having little impact

NEW YORK Ferrosilicon market participants are not convinced that the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) ruling on imports from Venezuela will lead to lower prices in the spot market.
The ITC ruled that imports of ferrosilicon from Venezuela are not injuring or threatening to injure the U.S. industry, and as a result no duties will be imposed (amm.com, Aug. 26).
While the ruling was a surprise to the majority of market participants contacted by AMM, many said that the ruling was unlikely to have a significant impact on spot pricing in the short or long term.....
