World use of refined zinc metal grew 16.7 percent in the first 11 months of 2010, although supply exceeded demand, according to the latest data from the International Lead and Zinc Study Group.
The table shows the output of zinc—mined and/or finished metal—for the year ended Sept. 30, 2010. Those companies identified by an asterisk are smelting companies with little or no mining. Sources include company data, analyst estimates and Metal Bulletin's Shanghai office. No production figures were available for Brazil's Votorantim or for Glencore's Bolivian and Peruvian mines.
