CHICAGO Ryerson Inc. has named William S. Johnson as interim chief financial officer effective April 12.
He replaces Terence Rogers, who is leaving the company to pursue a new career outside the metals service center sector.
"We are now conducting a global search for a long-term replacement. In the meantime, Bill Johnson is a proven CFO with more than 15 years of experience in metals distribution, and he is uniquely qualified to step in during the transition," Mike Arnold, chief executive officer of Chicago-based Ryerson, said in a statement.
Johnson previously held the same role at such major service center chains as PNA Group Inc. and Earle M. Jorgensen Co., and most recently served in the same capacity at engineering and construction company Brinderson LP, Costa Mesa, Calif.
