Chinese producer Tiancheng Stainless Steel Products (TCSS) has commissioned a consortium led by Austria’s Siemens VAI Metals Technologies to supply an annealing and pickling line.
“The value of this order for Siemens lies in the double-digit-million euro range,” Siemens said in a statement.
“The plant will have an annual capacity of 240,000 tonnes of cold strip and is scheduled to come into production at the end of 2013,” the supplier added.
The annealing and picking line will be built at the TCSS facility in Guanghan, in Sichuan province. It will produce cold strip in widths from 800mm to 1,300mm and thicknesses of 0.3-3mm.
TCSS is part of the Sichuan Jinguang Group, an integrated metals corporation specialising in the exploration and mining of nickel, chromium and manganese and the production of high-grade steel.
