NEW YORK — Nucor Corp. will lower its raw material surcharge for a number of steel plate products by $10 per ton to $268 per ton ($13.40 per hundredweight) but will keep its net transaction prices unchanged, the Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a letter to customers Monday.
The surcharge reduction, which applies to all carbon and alloy discrete plate and plate in coil, will take effect with orders acknowledged to ship the week ending May 5 through May 26.
