An unconfirmed number of ThyssenKrupp workers are on strike today at facilities across Germany, along with workers from other metals industry trade unions, sources close to the situation told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday May 2.
Workers belonging to the Arbeitgeberverband and IG Metall unions are striking in the midst of negotiations for higher pay.
The industrial action comes on the heels of recent announcements that unemployment has increased in the northern European country and wages have gone down in some industries.
ThyssenKrupp declined to comment on the situation at the time of publication.
