India’s National Aluminium Co (Nalco) is exporting 12,000 tonnes of aluminium at a premium of $152 over the LME price, commercial director Ansuman Das told Metal Bulletin on Thursday May 3.
A Korean buyer bought the aluminium, which will be shipped at the rate of 1,500 tonnes per month from May to December, Das said from Bhubhaneshwar, India.
The last tender before this deal was for 6,000 tonnes of aluminium at $120 premium, he said.
Nalco is also exporting 30,000 tonnes of alumina at $325 per tonne, he said.
A European trader had won the tender and the alumina will be sent by the third week of May, Das said.
Trafigura won the last tender for
30,000 tonnes of alumina at $323 per tonne.
