NEW YORK Bohler-Uddeholm Corp. has announced plans to more than double the high-speed steel-edge wire production capacity at its South Boston, Va., manufacturing facility.
The Elgin, Ill.-based company did not disclose the overall cost of the planned expansion.
The project, slated for completion in mid-2013, is said to include the latest technology in the production of edge wire, which is used to produce blades for band saws and reciprocating saws, as well as other products.
Bohler-Uddeholm is part of the Special Steel division of Voestalpine Group, Linz, Austria.
