PITTSBURGH A recycling company that filed an antitrust lawsuit alleging a competitor was trying to drive it out of business has withdrawn its complaint.
Iron Mountain Recycling LLC of Gatesville, Texas, had accused Warrington, England-based European Metal Recycling LLC and its wholly owned New Orleans-based subsidiary, Southern Recycling LLC, of boycotting its scrap metal in an effort to destroy the company (AMM, April 26).
The Gatesville recycler filed for a motion to dismiss, according to a document filed in U.S. District Court in Louisiana. It is unclear why the litigation was dropped, and neither party responded to a request for comment.
