Two senior Newedge metals brokers, Joel Spier and John Peiser at the group’s New York office, have left, market sources told Metal Bulletin.
The departure of Spier, head of metals Americas and Peiser, senior director, comes a week after the global head of metals Mike Frawley quit Newedge to join Jefferies Bache.
The next move by the two brokers is unknown. Newedge had not responded to an email by Metal Bulletin confirming the news.
John Fay, global head of fixed income, commodities and currencies has taken over direct responsibility for the metals business from Frawley, Newedge said at the time of Frawley's departure.
Newedge is a category I ring dealing LME member. It is a joint venture between Societe Generale and Credit Agricole and is headquartered in Paris.
