ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp. and AK Steel Corp. have lowered their surcharges for grain-oriented electrical steel.
Allegheny Ludlum, a division of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc., has cut its surcharge to $336 per ton ($16.80 per hundredweight) effective with Sept. 1 shipments, down 9.2 percent from $370 per ton ($18.50 per cwt) in August.
West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel Corp. reduced its September surcharge to $215 per ton ($10.75 per cwt), down 21.8 percent from $275 per ton ($13.75 per cwt) in August.
