NEW YORK Aleris International Inc. has appointed former Montupet Inc. technical director Philippe Meyer vice president and chief technology officer.
Meyer will be charged with building an internal technology organization at Aleris, including "centers of excellence" for the companys aerospace and automotive products, according to a statement from the Cleveland-based company.
Prior to working at automotive parts producer Montupet, Meyer held management positions in research and technology with Pechiney SA, where he helped develop an aluminum-lithium alloy for aerospace applications and precision aluminum-forging technology for automotive products.
