CHICAGO The Wheatland Tube Co. division of JMC Steel Group Inc. is poised to re-enter the galvanized mechanical tube market.
The Chicago-based steel tube and pipe maker has named industry veteran David Devine general manager for fence and galvanized mechanical products in a move keyed to spearhead the drive. Devine also will be responsible for sales and product management for fence products, the company said.
Devines resume includes nearly two decades in the mechanical tube market, most recently as national sales manager, energy solutions, at Atkore/Unistrut Construction, JMC said. He has held various regional and national sales roles, and over the years has worked with manufacturers, distributors and contractors to develop and introduce mechanical products into both the solar and construction industries.
Devines experience in business development, steel fabrication, and technical and engineering practices should provide a big help to Sharon, Pa.-based Wheatland Tube as the company looks to "progressively move forward in the galvanized mechanical tube market," JMC chief executive officer Frank Riddick said in a statement.
Wheatland Tube makes a range of steel tubular products, including standard pipe, drawn-over-mandrel mechanical tubing, fence framework, sprinkler pipe, oil country tubular goods and line pipe.
