NEW YORK Felman Trading Inc. has significantly lowered its sales prices for manganese alloys in November.
The Miami-based company set its prices for silicomanganese at 61 cents per pound ex-warehouse, down 9 percent from 67 cents in October (amm.com, Oct.1), while it set prices for high-carbon ferromanganese at $1,220 per long ton ex-warehouse, 6.2 percent lower than $1,300 a month ago.
Silicomanganese in the spot market is trading at between 58 and 60 cents per pound, while high-carbon ferromanganese is trading at between $1,150 and $1,200 per long ton (amm.com, Oct. 26).
Prices for both materials have been falling recently due to poor demand from the steel sector as the end of the year approaches.
