NEW YORK Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI) and affiliates TDY Industries LLC and TDY Holdings LLC will pay $1.8 million toward the cost of cleaning up a Superfund site in South El Monte, Calif., under a proposed consent decree.
TDY Industries, a subsidiary of Pittsburgh-based ATI, formerly owned or operated a facility at which there was disposal of hazardous substances at the site from 1975 to 2003, the U.S. Justice Department said in a lawsuit filed in federal District Court in California.
ATI did not return a request for comment.
