CHICAGO TPCO America Corp. is holding a second job fair Thursday in Portland, Texas, as it begins the hiring process for workers for its new seamless pipe mill.
TPCO, which is building the $1-billion, 500,000-tonne-per-year seamless pipe mill in Gregory (amm.com, March 9), held the first job fair Friday; the second job fair aims to specifically recruit military veterans.
Available jobs include pipe loader, straightener, threading, coupling and hydrotest operators, crane operators, finishing end workers, metallurgical engineers, production scheduling and quality assurance personnel, laboratory technicians, steelmaking and rolling supervisors, and a training and safety officer.
The company is working with Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend, Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend, Del Mar College and Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi.
