NEW YORK SSAB Americas is raising published prices on a number of steel plate products by $50 per ton, it said in a letter to customers dated Nov. 19.
The latest increase applies to all new and existing noncontract orders set to ship the week of Dec. 30 and beyond for as-rolled carbon and high-strength, low-alloy plate; normalized plate; alloy plate, including quenched and tempered; cut-to-length plate; and hot-rolled coil greater than 72 inches wide.
Any unconfirmed orders are subject to requote, the company said.
This follows an increase of the same amount less than two weeks ago by the Lisle, Ill.-based subsidiary of Swedens SSAB AB, effective Dec. 2 (amm.com, Nov. 9).
