NEW YORK North American Stainless Inc. (NAS) has followed ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp., a division of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI), in lowering some of its surcharges to their lowest levels this year.
Ghent, Ky.-based NAS set its December surcharges for Type 304 material at 72.98 cents per pound, down 7.9 percent from 79.28 cents in October; Type 201 at 47.72 cents, down 4.8 percent from 50.12 cents; Type 316 at $1.0307, down 7.7 percent from $1.1164; and Type 430, which contains no nickel, at 21.69 cents per pound, up 9.1 percent from 19.88 cents.
