CHICAGO — Industrial Tube & Steel Corp. has built a larger building in Ohio as it looks to boost its inventory capacity and offer more services to customers.

The Kent, Ohio-based service center’s new building, double the size of its previous facility, also sports custom cutting equipment and faster loading capabilities, the company said Tuesday.

"With the larger facility, we hold significantly more stock and equipment to create faster turnaround times," Industrial Tube & Steel president Dick Siess said in a statement.

Following a move in 2009, the company went to six 10-ton cranes from four 5-ton cranes, Siess said. The newer cranes are able to carry heavier loads and reach higher racks.

The new operation also sports a 28-inch Hyd-Mech saw for increased and more accurate cutting capacity, six loading docks and two drive-through bays, the company said.

Industrial Tube & Steel serves markets in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania, it said.
