SHANGHAI — China exported 106,200 automobiles in September, down 5.5 percent from August, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said Nov. 20, as a slide in commercial vehicle exports offset an increase in passenger car shipments.

China’s passenger car exports totaled 71,800 units during the month, up 7.4 percent from August, while commercial vehicle shipments fell 24.6 percent to 34,300 units.

Auto exports for the first nine months of the year totaled 769,100 units, up 23 percent year on year.

Chinese automobiles are mainly exported to Algeria, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Peru, Russia, Ukraine and Venezuela.

China imported 79,700 automobiles in September, down 27.6 percent from August, putting the January-to-September total up 23.6 percent to 900,600 units.
