NEW YORK — The blast furnace at Severstal North America Inc.’s Dearborn, Mich., facility is back online following a pipe explosion earlier this month.

The furnace is now up and running, a company spokeswoman confirmed in an e-mail. An investigation into the incident is still ongoing, she said.

A cold-air pipe at the facility exploded Nov. 2 following a power outage the night before (amm.com, Nov. 2). Following the blast, the company said it did not anticipate any impact on shipments (amm.com, Nov. 5).
