PITTSBURGH — U.S. Shredder & Castings Group has entered a partnership with an Italian manufacturer as part of its strategy to expand its global footprint.

U.S. Shredder & Castings has signed a supplier deal with Rossano Veneto-based BBM SpA, the company said Wednesday.

BBM will manufacture the Trussville, Ala.-based company’s shredders, as well as offer marketing and a team of engineers to provide technical support.

"We have been getting more and more inquiries from all over the world. We can’t manufacture in the States and ship economically to other parts of the world," U.S. Shredder & Castings president Bill Tigner told AMM.

"Aside from freight costs, we can offer local support and eliminate the time problem associated with time differences," he added.

"It’s one thing to sell a system. It’s quite another to support it properly," Tigner said in a statement.

The U.S. Shredder & Castings line will be marketed into Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and India, where BBM has an existing manufacturing facility.
