PITTSBURGH Advantage Metals Recycling LLC (AMR) has purchased a scrap metal processing facility and a used auto parts store in Missouri.
The wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor Corp. scrap supplier David J. Joseph Co. said it completed the purchase of the business and assets of Nuelles 4x4 Salvage in Higginsville at the end of November. In addition to its used auto parts depot, the facility buys vehicles as well as ferrous and nonferrous scrap.
Kansas City-based AMR, which employs more than 350 workers at 15 recycling facilities, said the acquisition was part of its strategy to deepen its footprint in markets it already serves.
