NEW YORK — Distributor Penn Stainless Products Inc. has added two Koike Aronson plasma cutting systems that enable precision cutting of up to 6.25-inch-thick stainless steel plate.

"It’s a real leapfrog in terms of productivity and quality," president Jim Seward told AMM.

Production benefits include optimum cut quality, less dross, less kerf loss, a smaller heat-affected zone and a reduced bevel edge, the Quakertown, Pa.-based company said.

The two machines operating on one shared rail system allow for a cutting envelope of 10 feet by 65 feet.
