NEW YORK — Nucor Corp.’s sheet mill group has increased its base prices by $20 per ton effective immediately, the company said in a letter to customers dated Dec. 6.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said the increase applies to all new orders of hot-rolled, cold-rolled and galvanized sheet products.

Earlier this week, market sources had predicted another round of increase announcements from domestic mills (amm.com, Dec. 5). This is the third increase to have been announced in the fourth quarter.
