SHANGHAI — China’s crude steel production for the final 10 days of November increased 0.4 percent from the preceding 10 days, according to estimates from the China Iron and Steel Association (Cisa).

Daily crude steel production averaged 1.96 million tonnes in late November, up from 1.952 million tonnes in the second 10 days of the month.

Cisa members, including state-owned and large steel mills, contributed an average daily volume of 1.641 million tonnes during the period. That’s up 0.5 percent in the same comparison.

"Though the fall in long product prices in November gave some steel mills a hard time, firm prices of flats offset the negative effect and encouraged steel mills to produce more," an industry analyst in Beijing told AMM sister publication Steel First.

Average daily crude steel production for November as a whole totaled 1.956 million tonnes.
