NEW YORK Unionized workers at Ohio Cold Rolling Co. have ratified a four-year collective bargaining agreement with Esmark Steel Group LLC.
Some 81 percent of United Steelworkers members voted in favor of the new contract at the Yorkville, Ohio, facility, which Esmark acquired from bankrupt steelmaker RG Steel LLC in October, the company said Thursday.
Of 252 eligible voters, 218 participated in the ratification vote, according to a local union representative.
"Were very pleased that after months of negotiations, the union members found the contract offer to provide for a strong wage, benefits and profit-sharing package," James P. Bouchard, chairman and chief executive officer of parent company Esmark Inc., said in a statement.
