PITTSBURGH — A Kansas City, Mo., scrapyard owner wants to open a 25-acre salvage yard in the city.

Krystyn Roberts of County Line Auto Parts is seeking a special-use permit from the Kansas City Board of Zoning Adjustment for an area zoned for manufacturing. The facility, Green Auto Recycling & Metals LLC, also would provide unspecified recycling services. There is no timetable for when the request will be considered.

Roberts, who could not be reached for comment, established Green Auto Recycling in July 2011, according to state corporation records.
