CHICAGO Nucor Corp. has left its January raw materials surcharge for special bar quality (SBQ) products unchanged at $11 per hundredweight ($220 per ton), the Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said in a Dec. 10 letter to customers.
The surcharge, which is effective with shipments Jan. 1, is based on AMMs consumer buying price for No. 1 busheling scrap in Chicago, which was $390 per ton in both November and December.
